Map: Protest Density in South Syria (16 Aug-11 Sept)

September 13, 2023

Anti-regime protests concentrated in Daraa and Suwayda provinces have been held on an almost daily basis since 16th August. Demonstrators, frustrated by poor living conditions and a plummeting economy, are demanding the removal of Assad from power. Despite regime attempts to contain and undermine the popular movement, protests so far have not diminished in size or scope.
